It is online “Italia Taglia” (Italy cuts), a database collecting the censorship intervention on every film, italian and foreign, distributed in Italy between 1913 and 1998. The website has been created by The Cineteca di Bologna in collaboration with ‘A.N.I.C.A. (Associazione Nazionale Industrie Cinematografiche Audiovisive e multimediali). In Italy by law every film distributed has to pass a censorship visa, therefore a request containing the screenplay and the plot has to be presented to the censorship commission. This has allowed to record a parallel history of Cinema in Italy where bureaucracy has perversely preserved what intended to hide. All frames, scenes, sequences, edited out by the Italian censorship have been preserved, and now have been restored by The Cineteca di Bologna. The database is online only in Italian language at http://www.italiataglia.it/
